Despite leading for pretty much the entire night, Perry could not hang on to a late lead as Boone rallied to defeat the Bluejays 54-51 in Raccoon River Conference action.  Trevor Van Pelt’s 3-point play with 31 seconds to go proved to be the difference as Boone grabbed the 54-51 lead.  It was a scramble sequence as Tyler Casotti avoided the 5 second turnover by making a last second back door pass to a cutting Van Pelt who was able to make an acrobatic shot over Mark Campos and draw the foul.  Perry had a couple of chances to tie it but could only muster one shot in the final 30 seconds.

Rashon Ivory led the Bluejays with 18 points while Mark Campos turned in his first career double double finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Connor Nielsen added 12 points.

Boone was led by Derek Rhinehart’s 16 points, including 15 in the second half.  Rhinehart was 4-7 from the 3-point line in the second half.

Perry falls to 4-8 and 2-4 in RRC play while Boone improves to 5-6 and 2-4 in conference action.
