ADM Tigers

The rivalry between Adel-Desoto-Minburn and Dallas Center-Grimes dates back decades in every athletic competition, including multiple sports during the 2017-18 school year. The Mustangs owned ADM in numerous games including football, volleyball, wrestling, and girls basketball. However, ADM’s boy’s basketball team (3-9 overall record), saddled with an eight-game overall losing streak, gave Ambush Nation something to brag about with Tuesday’s 54-46 victory over DCG in Grimes. It was the first victory for ADM over DCG in Grimes since the Meadows Gymnasium was built.

Senior Cole Knoll was one of the Tiger football players who saw Dallas Center-Grimes shutout ADM, 35-0, in their season opener last August. Knoll registered seven points, eight rebounds, and swiped four steals to help end ADM’s losing streak. He says beating DCG on the hardwood helps to drown out previous losses to the Mustangs in other sports. “Anytime you beat the team that’s beat you in any other sport; it feels pretty good.” Knoll said, “You just come out, and even though you got beat, you can say we beat them in another sport.”

The win improves ADM’s overall record to 3-9. The Tigers will look for their first league win of the season Friday when the Ballard Bombers invade Adel for a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader.
