A battle for sole possession of third place in the Raccoon River Conference girls basketball standings took place Tuesday night in Carlisle. The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers (4-8 overall) made their first road trip of the new year to face the Lady Wildcats (5-5 overall) with both teams entering the game with identical 3-2 conference records. ADM let a five-point fourth quarter lead slip through their hands late, falling to Carlisle, 57-54. The contest featured eight lead changes and was tied twice.

ADM topped Carlisle at halftime, 27-23, and the Tigers held a 43-38 advantage entering the fourth quarter. Carlisle outscored ADM, 19-11, in the final eight minutes to win the game. Sophomore Abbie Hlas scored a team-best 17 points and dished out four assists. Junior Emma Jacobsen drained five three-point shots, scoring 15 points and swiping five steals. Carlisle’s Meredith Hoffman scored a game-high 24 points.

The loss drops ADM’s overall record to 4-8 and evens their conference mark at 3-3. The Tigers resume their season Friday on the road against Class 4A No. 7 ranked Boone.
