ADM Tigers

The January road schedule continues tonight for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers basketball teams. The Tigers travel to the Dallas County border for a nonconference doubleheader against the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs and Fillies. Both ADM basketball teams are searching for a win on this current three-game road swing before returning to Adel Friday for Raccoon River Conference doubleheader against the Ballard Bombers.

The ADM girls basketball team (4-9 overall) is coming off a loss to the state rated Boone Toreadors (12-1 overall) on Friday, 74-48. The Toreadors senior duo of Caitlynne Shadle and Claire Sandvig outscored the Tigers by themselves, combining for 49 points in the victory. Sophomore Abbie Hlas was ADM’s top scorer with 18 points, while Kristen Baier added 10 points and six rebounds in the setback. The Fillies enter tonight’s contest with back-to-back wins inside the Little Hawkeye Conference, including a 52-51 upset of Class 4A No. 9 Pella Friday.

The struggles for the ADM boys basketball team (2-9 overall) continued Friday in Raccoon River Conference action in Boone. The Toreadors led from the opening minute and never looked back in a 65-53 victory over the Tigers. ADM scored 25 of their 53 points in the final quarter. Senior Cole Knoll led ADM with 13 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Dallas Center-Grimes was victorious their last game out against the Pella Little Dutch, 61-52.
