West Central Valley Wildcat

The West Central Activities Conference wrestling season continued Tuesday evening for the West Central Valley Wildcats. The Wildcat wrestlers spent the night in Panora, battling grapplers from Panorama and Van Meter-Earlham in a triangular event. The Wildcats returned to Stuart with a pair of dual losses.

West Central Valley opened the competition wrestling Van Meter-Earlham. The Wildcats recorded three pinfall, two decisions, and one win by forfeit in a 45-30 setback. Van Meter-Earlham registered five wins by fall, two decision victories, and one win by forfeit. Justin Garcia (126; 2:46), Wes Pote (132; 3:00), and Matthew Clark (160; 4:55) won by pinfall against Van Meter-Earlham.

The second dual of the night saw Panorama edge West Central Valley, 39-32, in a battle of Guthrie County teams. The Wildcats posted a pair of major decision and decision victories, one injury default and two wins by forfeit. Panorama countered with five pinfall victories, one decision win, and one win by forfeit.

The results push West Central Valley’s dual record to 3-2 overall. The Wildcats resume their season next Tuesday in a quadrangular dual event against Audubon, East Sac County and South Central Calhoun at Audubon High School.
