The Greene County girls’ basketball team plays twice this week, and both games are against teams ranked in the top 15 in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Number six Roland-Story (Story City) visits the middle school gym in Jefferson tonight for a 6 p.m. contest on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. and the boys play after the girls are done.

The Norsemen are 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. Coach Justin Morton has a deep squad that can put up the points. The Norsemen are averaging 66 points a game while giving up just half of that at 33 points per contest.

Greene County is 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the league with a conference win over Saydel (Des Moines) and losses to Gilbert and PCM (Monroe). Coach Dean Lyons’ team is averaging 47 points a game and giving up just over 48 per contest.

The Rams face number 15 North Polk (Alleman) at 2 p.m. on Friday inside Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines with the boys’ game to follow.
