The wrestling room at The Edge Sports Academy has some 30 high school wrestlers in it daily, plus another 25 or so on the middle school level. That’s OK with Greene County senior Cayden Gerdes. He’s wrestling at 138 lbs. this season and he talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about just two years ago when the number of wrestlers was sparse. “When there were just 10 of us, that was fun and all, but now we have so many people you get a variety during practice. You get to wrestle so many different people and I just love that.”

Gerdes and the Rams are home in the middle school gym tomorrow starting at 5:30 p.m. with Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rival Gilbert and Raccoon River Activities Conference member ADM providing the opposition. Greene County is 1-3 in dual meets and will have even more dual meet action on Saturday when they travel to Ogden for the Bulldogs’ dual meet tournament.
