The Perry wrestling team will do something tonight that they won’t do the rest of December.  That’s wrestle a home meet.  Perry will host Montezuma, Ogden and Woodward Granger tonight before heading on the road for the next couple of weeks to close out the 2017 schedule.  Perry had a strong showing at the Dan Hill Invitational as first reported on KDLS with 2 tournament champions and 1 tournament runner-up.  Head Coach Mark Weber was pleased his three returning state qualifiers and their effort in the offseason preparing for the current season.  Zach Thompson, Zach Stewart and Kaleb Olejniczak all qualified for state a year ago.

“I was really happy with all three kids.  First, all 3 got physically stronger, especially Kaleb who has jumped up a couple of weights.  Both Zach’s spent a lot of time on the wrestling mats this summer and fall and worked on a lot of technique.  Kaleb was active in baseball and football which is great  and has jumped right into the fire with his usual great positive energy.”

Action starts tonight at 5:30.
