Since the beginning of December, the Perry Chamber of Commerce has been running a promotion on their Facebook page, and today their “Elf on the Shelf” made an appearance at Raccoon Valley Radio.

Chamber Board member Emily Leslie says she, like many people during the holidays, has done “Elf on the Shelf” for her kids for several years. Now she and the rest of the Board are excited to bring it to a wider audience. “One of our Chamber Board members had this idea of having a Chamber elf. So a Chamber Board member will come into the business and take a picture of the business, do a quick advertising on our Chamber Facebook page. And just let the community know: come out, continue to shop local through the whole month of December by looking at different pictures, hearing about different promotions that each business has throughout the entire month of December.”

Each business featured in the promotion will offer a sort of reward to the public for simply paying attention. With the elf visiting Raccoon Valley Radio today, we ask people to post their favorite thing about KDLS Radio or your favorite memory with us. Post on either the Raccoon Valley Radio or Chamber Facebook page between now and December 14th, and you’ll be entered to win a pair of tickets to an Iowa State Cyclones men’s basketball game.
