High schools around the state recently participated in the 2017 Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association (ISDTA) Team Championships in Des Moines, including Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn.

The competition was held over two days last week at Wells Fargo Arena. Perry and ADM both participated in three categories, and the teams earned “I” ratings in each category. The Perry team placed 5th in Large School Prop, with an average score of 61.625; 8th in Class VII Hip Hop, with an average of 60.75; and 8th in Class XI Pom, with an average of 60.375. The ADM team placed 6th in Class III Novelty, with an average score of 62.5; 9th in Class V Jazz, with an average of 60; and 10th in Class I Lyrical, with an average of 60.875.

Each event is scored by four judges, and in order to receive a “I” rating the average score needed to be above 60. For a full list of results, click the link below.
