The Perry Police Department has reported the two-vehicle wreck Thursday night resulted in no serious injuries.

According to Police Chief Eric Vaughn, the collision occurred at around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Iowa Street and Highway 141 near the Super 8 Hotel. The wreck reportedly happened when a 2001 Toyota Avalon driven by Naga Konduru of Omaha, Nebraska ran the stop sign at Iowa Street, traveling south across Highway 141. As the vehicle was crossing the westbound lanes, it was hit in the rear by a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Elizabeth Sass of Perry. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, but it did result in all westbound traffic on Highway 141 being diverted to Iowa Street for around an hour.

The airbags deployed in the minivan, and everyone involved was reportedly wearing a seatbelt. Sass complained of some minor injuries and was transported to Dallas County Hospital by ambulance. Konduru was cited for failure to yield to a stop sign and a right-of-way. The police department was aided at the scene by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services.
