Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse says an investigation started on November 21st of a report of missing Casey’s General Store gift cards. The victim mailed two $50 Casey’s gift cards to her brother, who lives in a Genesis Development residence in the 200 block of East Harrison Street. Clouse says through the investigation, officers discovered that 56-year-old Cindy Jo Sheehy, who is an employee of Genesis Development, allegedly intercepted the mail and stole the gift cards and used them at the Casey’s location in Grand Junction. Clouse notes that the officer obtained video surveillance from December 4th of the suspect using the cards.
Sheehy is charged with a Class D Felony for dependent adult abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor for unauthorized use of a credit card and a simple misdemeanor for fifth degree theft.
Arrest warrants have been requested. Once the warrants are issued and Sheehy is apprehended, she will be booked into the Greene County Jail.
