After three games in a row on the road to open the 2017-18 high school basketball seasons, the Paton-Churdan teams were finally at home on Tuesday night. The Rockets hosted Glidden-Ralston in a girl/boy doubleheader with the G-R girls and P-C boys getting victories.

The Rockets lost the girls’ game in overtime to G-R, 66-59 after being out scored in OT by a score of 8-1. Danielle Hoyle had 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Rockets. Megan Carey scored 10 points and Jenna Beyers added nine. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team is now 2-2 on the season.

The P-C boys picked up win number one on the season with a 69-61 victory over the Wildcats. Jake Berns had 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead P-C. Charlie Minnehan added 14 points and Clay Smith had 11.

It’s back on the road for the Rockets Friday night with a long trip to Mondamin to face West Harrison for a girl/boy doubleheader.
