acgcA boys basketball team in Guthrie Center hasn’t won four straight games since the 2012-2013 season. The Chargers will try to extend the longest winning streak in program history tonight against the Woodward Academy Knights.

Charger Senior Caden Wardyn comes into the game as the fourth leading scorer in the West Central Activities Conference, averaging nearly 17 points per game. Wardyn has also found the free-throw line 30 times, connecting on 22 of his extra-point opportunities and putting him second best in the conference. The Senior is also sixth in the conference in rebounds with 37, while sophomore counterpart Quynton Younker is second with 42.

The Chargers will host a Woodward Academy Team who’s heading in the wrong direction. After winning the opener against Ogden, the Knights have dropped three straight to Van Meter, rival Woodward-Granger, and WCAC powerhouse DMC. The Knights are led by junior Rob Salley, who averaged nearly thirteen points per game in his first three starts this season. Classmate Mike Barker will also be a factor, averaging a double-double in those same three starts.
