ACGC WrestlingThe ACGC wrestling squad showcased their skills this weekend. The Chargers qualified four wrestlers into the finals, Saturday, at the Riverside Invitational in Oakland.

Seth Danker (10-1, 106) advanced straight to the semifinals on a quarterfinal bye. In the semifinals, Danker defeated Shenandoah’s Anthony Dinges by fall (0:56) and advanced to the finals. Danker took out Stone Sindelar from Nebraska’s Papillion-LaVista South on a 9-3 decision, to reach the top of the podium. Easton Benson (10-1, 126) also won his weight class. Benson began the day with a quarterfinal victory by fall (1:30) over Riverside’ s Ethan Becker. Benson reached the finals by defeating Papillion-LaVista South’s Andrew Murray by fall (3:34). In the finals, Benson claimed the victory by a 3-1 decision over AHSTW’s Jaeden Rasmusssen.

Blaine Beeler (10-1, 120) suffered his first individual loss of the season, but is still undefeated against Iowa wrestlers. Beeler was defeated by Papillion-LaVista South’s Colton Kinen by fall (5:36) in the final, taking second place. Zachary Fees (8-3, 132) also lost by fall (0:31) in the finals to Logan-Magnolia’s Wyatt Crocker.

The Chargers now have three wrestlers at 10-1 in Beeler, Benson, and Danker. Ben Kingery also participated in the tournament. The Chargers finished in 9th place in the team standings with 92 points. Logan-Magnolia cruised to a team victory at 208 points. ACGC will head to Ogden on Thursday for duals against the host Bulldogs, Southwest Valley, and cross-county rival Panorama.
