acgcThe Charger wrestlers will hit the mats tonight in Bedford for a triangular against Bedford-Lenox and Coon Rapids Bayard. The Chargers already have some experience against the host Bulldogs at the Coach Riley Invitational in Greenfield last weekend. The Bulldogs placed second in the team standings with 116 points, while the Chargers finished in fourth at 80 points.

State qualifying contenders Blaine Beeler and Easton Benson have gotten off to great starts to open the season. In the first two outings, the two juniors are a combined 10-1. Both are coming off first place finishes in Nodaway Valley last weekend and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In terms of head-to-head experience, junior Ben Kingery defeated the Bulldog’s Jaden Loe by sudden victory in the 195 pound third place match.

As for the Bulldogs, Dylan Heideman (132), Drew Venteicher (152), Derek Venteicher (182), and Chance Strough (220) all won their weight classes in Greenfield. Additionally, all four are undefeated and received byes at Nodaway Valley to send them straight to the semifinals. First grapple for the Chargers starts at around 6:15.
