Greene County SheriffTwo male juveniles were arrested by law enforcement for incidents in Lake City and Churdan.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that two Calhoun County minors were arrested Saturday after allegedly breaking into and stealing items from four different Sparky’s One Stop gas stations, including a location in Churdan. Williams says the Churdan incident happened around 3:13am Saturday, when the two broke into Sparky’s and stole cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

Williams says he worked with Sac County law enforcement, where the suspects broke into three other Sparky’s locations and stole similar items over the course of a month. After reviewing video surveillance and working with Sac County officials, Williams says they executed a search warrant Saturday evening at a home in Lake City in the 100 block of West View, as well as the suspect’s vehicle that they found at Charlie’s Steakhouse in Carroll. Williams states they recovered 84 cartons of cigarettes and several cans of chewing tobacco.

Williams notes the two 16-year-olds each face charges in Greene County for ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B Felony, and Class D Felonies for third degree burglary and second degree criminal mischief. The suspects face additional charges in Sac County.

Williams says the two minors were transported to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center, where they were turned over to Juvenile Court Services.
