All of the fundraisers and open gym organizing is finally done.  Chris Morrow can now do what he loves most..coach high school basketball on the court.   The first year head coach stepped on the Perry hardwood yesterday with 27 girls as they get set for the season opener in less than two weeks.

“I’m really excited to get on the court and start coaching basketball.  I’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes things for the program in order for today to go smoothly,” smiled the young energetic coach.

Yesterday marked the first official day that teams could report for practice.  Morrow was anticipating on having 27 girls report from the freshman through senior age group.

“The numbers are certainly trending up,” added Morrow.  “I am so excited to get the team together and see what we have on the court.  With my late arrival, these first two weeks will be critical for our staff to evaluate and determine the roles our varsity players will have.”

Perry opens the season next Friday night at home with Des Moines North.
