One of the longest-running traditions in Perry is returning this Friday with the annual Lighted Christmas Parade.

The City of Perry and the Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for this year’s event, which will run around the downtown area. Chamber Board member Emily Leslie adds, they’re still looking for parade submissions. “Parade line-up is at 6:00, and we really want to encourage businesses, organizations, (and) groups of people to come together; decorate your cars, decorate your pickups, you know throw a Christmas tree on a flatbed and just have fun! This is a pastime that Perry has really participated in greatly, so we want to encourage everybody to do that and take part!”

The lineup will be at the corner of 2nd Street and Otley Avenue. The parade will travel north on 3rd Street before hooking back onto 2nd at Pattee Street on its way back to Otley. Additionally, La Poste will be hosting their first annual Poste Holiday Lighted Parade Party immediately following the parade.
