Though Veterans Day was last weekend, the Perry Hy-Vee is continuing their celebration through this week with a round-up fundraiser.

Store Manager Matt Rohe says the program is called Hy-Vee Homefront. Shoppers can participate by rounding up their total to the nearest dollar at the register, with the remainder donated to the cause. Customers can choose to donate more than that if they want, and Rohe says all the funds will go directly to various charitable groups for veterans. “The amount we raise goes to some great veteran organizations. (I) think the one that kind of hits home in Perry is, I know the community school district was raising money for the Puppy Jake Foundation. So that is one of the foundations that also the Hy-Vee Homefront Round-Up goes to. So it goes to great causes of any veteran organizations.”

In addition to the Puppy Jake Foundation, funds raised will also go to Operation First Response, Hope for the Warriors, and the American Red Cross. The round-up event will run through this weekend.
