Jefferson City Council 11_14The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved a resolution for a plat of survey for 1.13-acres for owner Nick Foster at 1510 Westwood Drive as presented and approved a contract with the Iowa Economic Development Authority for the $245,000 matching Community Development Block Grant for the Owner Occupied Rehabilitation program. Additionally, the Council approved a resolution to accept the People Active in County Exercise (PACE) community center reserve funds for building maintenance of the Greene County Community Center as recommended by the parks and rec board. The Council also appointed Building Inspector and Code Enforcer Nick Sorensen as Special Projects Coordinator with an annual salary of $10,000 effective November 15th.

The Council held a public hearing for funded activities for the Community Development Block Grant downtown revitalization project. No public comments were made but it was a required item for the federal funded program. The Council also set December 12th as a public hearing for the 2017 Urban Revitalization Plan to continue the three-year, 100-percent property tax abatement.
