Perry made the baskets look easy Tuesday night in their preseason jamboree victory over GMG Garwin 28-23.  The Jayette starters put up 28 points in a span of 11 minutes despite shooting just 1-8 from the foul line.  The duo of Johanna Diw and Molly Lutmer combined for six 3-point baskets.

“We are changing quite a few things from what was done here in the past,” stated head coach Chris Morrow.  “Our offense will give the players freedom to make individual plays and not be as structured as where they’re supposed to be.  I want them to attack the hoop and play aggressive.  I don’t want to curb their creativity.”

Perry will also change their defensive philosophy with a focus on their man to man looks.

“In the past, they forced middle here.  I want them to force sideline and baseline.  It will take some time to make the adjustments and the change won’t happen over night for a lot of our girls just because they’re used to playing one particular way.  It will be a gradual process.”

Perry opens the season Friday night at home with Des Moines North.
