IMG_1731The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

County Conservation Director Joe Hanner informed the Board that the department is still completing routine maintenance at Nations Bridge Park, including repairing water lines. Hanner also noted that campers and hikers have given the department positive feedback on the trail patching improvements. Hanner and the Board also discussed county wildlife trends.

The Board then approved several applications for 2017 family farm credit and approved plans to repair the truck purchased from the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency. The County will not need to accept bids for the repairs as they will complete the repairs internally. The Board also discussed the possibility of creating a Facilities Manager position to oversee the management of buildings and grounds including: the Courthouse, Public Health Department, and Transfer Station. The Board approved publishing the position internally for one week before possibly seeking external applicants.

The meeting concluded with the canvass of the 2017 city elections. The Supervisors signed off on the votes and the results are now official. County Auditor Marci McClellan informed the Board her intent to make this election the last one where votes would not be tabulated by a machine.
