Thanksgiving is this Thursday, and most public buildings will be closed to give staff an opportunity to enjoy the day with family and friends. In Guthrie County, the County Courthouse and city halls in Stuart, Panora, and Guthrie Center will be closed on both Thursday and Friday. The Stuart Public Library will be closed Thursday-Saturday, the Panora Public LIbrary will be closed Thursday and Friday, and the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center will only be closed on Thursday.

Adair County Health System will also have limited hours over Thanksgiving weekend. Adair County Medical Clinics in Stuart and Greenfield will be closed on Thanksgiving, as will as the home care, public health, and business facilities. On Friday, the Stuart Clinic and Greenfield Family Practice will be open until noon. If a Thanksgiving accident happens over the holiday weekend, ACHS Marketing Coordinator Tiffany Johnson encourages those individuals to utilize the new Urgent Care hours in Greenfield. “We hope more people utilize it. I think it’s just getting our community used to knowing that we’re open on Saturday mornings.”

The Adair County Courthouse as well as Greenfield City Hall will also be closed on Thursday and Friday.
