The final chapter in the collegiate football career of Adel-Desoto-Minburn graduate Jordan Grove begins this morning in the state of Ohio. Grove, the fifth-year senior fullback/tight end for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, is trying to win an unprecedented fourth Division II National Championship in his half-decade on the Maryville campus. The two time defending champions suffered back-to-back losses late in the season to drop from the top team in the country to the No. 6 seed in Super Region 4. The Bearcats open their title defense in Ashland, Ohio against the No. 3 Ashland University Eagles.

Earlier this week, the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association coaches named Grove to the All-MIAA third team. He caught 46 passes this season for 462 yards and three touchdowns. Grove also ran the ball 49 times for 194 yards and a touchdown and is considered the Bearcat’s top blocking back in the passing game. Kickoff between Northwest Missouri State University and Ashland University is 11 a.m. central time. Listen to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network for results and Grove’s stats from the game.
