IMG_1762Saturday, the City of Stuart officially recognized the new “Stuart” sign with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Members of the Stuart City Council, West Central Valley School Board, Stuart Chamber of Commerce, and Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED) were on hand to cut the ribbon.

Mayor Dick Cook has heard plenty of positive remarks from community members and believes this sign fits well with the city’s future goals. “I’ve heard people say it’s a beautiful sign and it really welcomes people to the Stuart community. I’m thrilled with this sign.

The sign is a result of a concept conceived in the Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program. The one-year technical grant program is designed to assist rural Iowa communities in enhancing transportation. The City received an estimated $90,000 in services through the program.
