acgcThe ACGC boys basketball team collected just three wins last season. The good news for the Chargers is that they return nine of their top ten scorers from that inaugural season. The bad news is that leading scorer Colton Sargent won’t be one of them. Sargent graduated after last season, leaving behind a team-leading 11.5 points and six rebounds per game. Sargent added 27 blocks, 22 assists, and 14 steals in his senior season.

Head Coach Jake Mohling will have some talent to help fill that gap. Senior Caden Wardyn and sophomore Quynton Younker each put up seven points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Younker also shot a team best 52.9% from the field and 40.7% from three, with a minimum of five shots.

The Chargers as a team will have to find a way to stop the bleeding when it comes to the turnover battle. ACGC finished last in the West Central Activities Conference with 461 turnovers, an average of 20 per game. The Chargers open the season with a scrimmage next Tuesday at Exira-EHK.
