The collegiate football career of 2013 Adel-Desoto-Minburn graduate Jordan Grove isn’t over yet. However, the fifth-year senior running back for the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat football team received postseason award recognition from the coaches of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Grove, a two-time first-team All-MIAA recipient, was named to the 2017 All-MIAA third team. Grove was an impactful player in the Bearcats offense this fall. He caught 46 passes this season for 462 yards and three touchdowns. Grove also ran the ball 49 times for 194 yards and a touchdown and is considered the Bearcat’s top blocking back in the passing game.

Grove’s efforts helped Northwest Missouri State University to a 9-2 overall record and a No. 6 seed in this weekend’s NCAA Division II Football Championship Playoff. The Bearcats, the 2015 & 2016 football champions, start their title defense in Ashland, Ohio this weekend versus the No. 3 seeded Ashland University Eagles. The Eagles finished the regular season on a 10-game winning streak and are the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football champions. Kickoff between Northwest Missouri State and Ashland University is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.
