The Class 3A District 2 All-District football selections were announced yesterday. Greene County had three players on the 45 person first team. Two more were on the 25 person honorable mention list. We take a closer look at the five Rams and the seasons they had.

Senior Jake Berns was on the first team defense. Berns led the Rams in tackles from a linebacker position. He averaged more than eight tackles (solo and assisted combined) per game. Sophomore Xavier Hayes was a first team selection as a defensive back. He led the Rams in interceptions with three. Junior Trey Hinote was on the all-district team as a wide receiver. He caught 44 passes for 569 yards, and three touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Clint Dennhardt and and sophomore offensive and defensive tackle Tyler Miller were honorable mention list. Dennhardt was 102 for 197 passing with six touchdowns, six interceptions, and 1,013 yards. He also was the second leading rusher on the team with 241 yards and seven touchdowns. Miller was an imposing figure at 6′ 9″ and 245 lbs. and played defensive end and offensive tackle.

The Rams were 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the district. A young team, Greene County returns nearly about 60% of its regular starters.
