WCV (1)If tomorrow’s clash of Guthrie County rivals is anything like the week one fixture featuring ACGC and West Central Valley, the fans in Panora will be treated to an exciting contest. West Central Valley closes the season tomorrow against Panorama.

Regardless of the result, both teams will finish near the bottom of the 1A-6 standings. Panorama got off to a good start, winning three of their first four games. Since then the Panthers have gone 0-4. Sophomore quarterback Luke South would love to have a prolific game, as he is tied for the worst quarterback to interception ratio in the district at -3. South has succeeded in launching the ball down the field with over 1,000 yards passing, but his interceptions in critical moments have hurt the Panther offense. That will hopefully improve as South gains more experience in the next two years.

The last two weeks West Central Valley has been outscored by Van Meter and South Hamilton by a combined 104-6. The Wildcats should have a more even fight tonight against the Panthers. Junior Cole Sackett should lock up the title of the state’s best tackler as he has 117 coming into tomorrow night, 19 more than the next highest player. Brock Wolfe should also get more action tomorrow night in his final game in purple and white. The senior was limited in last week’s homecoming game due to an ankle injury.

Kickoff is at 7 pm in Panora.
