Greene County will play Roland-Story in Story City tonight to begin Class 3A regional volleyball play. The Rams lost to R-S during the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference season in three sets, but regular season records don’t matter once the postseason begins.

R-S has the advantage when it comes to records at 27-10 while the Rams are 7-26. In the HOIAC the Norsemen lost only to league champion Gilbert, while the Rams were sixthth in the eight team league at 2-5, with victories over PCM (Monroe) and Saydel (Des Moines), the only two conference teams that were below Greene County in the standings.

The winner moves on to the semifinals on Oct. 24 in Story city vs. either South Central Calhoun (Lake City) or Southeast Valley (Gowrie), while the losing team has its season come to an end. Second rated Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), Atlantic, East Sac County (Lake View), and OA-BCIG (Ida Grove) are on the other side of the bracket.
