UPDATE: ADM Classes Cancelled Due to Bomb Threat, No Bomb Found

October 6, 2017 11:28 am

School today at Adel-Desoto-Minburn middle and high schools was cancelled due to a note containing a bomb threat.

The note was found outside the building this morning prior to school. The administration implemented their crisis management plan, which included evacuating students and staff. The Adel Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Waukee Police Department, and State Fire Marshal agents with their explosive-detection K-9 unit searched the entire campus thoroughly. Their search found nothing of concern. The Adel Police are conducting a criminal investigation to find the author of the note and identify all involved in the threat. They’ve collected evidence to be processed by the state crime lab.

Superintendent Greg DuFoe was appreciative of the response by the school staff and the support of the local law enforcement agencies. He apologized for any anxiety or fear the situation created today. If anyone has any information they are encouraged to contact the Adel Police Department at 515-993-6723.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
