A Memorial Service for Ricahrd Wilkening, 77, of Boone, formerly of Perry, will be Monday at 10 am at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone with military honors. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone. Memorials are suggested to the ALS Chapter of Iowa or the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Online condolences may be left at schroederfuneral.com. Survivors include: Wife, Linda. Children, Todd Wilkening of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Jeff Wilkening of Boone and Steve Wilkening of Perry. 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Siblings, Adele Smith of Des Moines, Denny Wilkening of State Center and Jerry Wilkening of Ankeny.

There will be a free holiday movie at the Perry Public Library, at 6:00 pm, Monday, December 18, in the large meeting room. The Movie is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carey. The movie is one hour and forty-five minutes long and is rated PG. Everyone is welcome. Children under 6 must have an adult in the room with them. A snack will be served, and no registration is needed.
