Greene County ends its high school football season on Friday by hosting the Ballard Bombers at Linduska Field in Jefferson. Ballard is 4-4 overall and 4-2 in Class 3A District 2. The Bombers actually won a game vs. ADM they later forfeited for undisclosed reasons. The biggest win of the season came in week seven when Ballard went to previously undefeated Boone and handed the Toreadors their first loss, 28-7.

Ballard has a powerful offense averaging nearly 380 yards and more than 35 points. Quarterback Isaac Schafbuch completes over 55% of his passes. He’s thrown for 894 yards and eight touchdowns, while being intercepted 11 times. Schafbuch also has 526 rushing yards and nine TD’s on the ground. Skyler Noftsger is the leading rusher with 782 yards and eight touchdowns to go with a 6.4 yards per carry average.

The Ballard defense allows about 22 points per game, but during the Bombers’ current three game winning streak, they are out scoring opponents 48 to 13.

The Rams are 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the district after Friday’s overtime loss at Perry in the Battle for the Cowbell. The season finale with Ballard will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
