A West Central Activities Conference rematch awaits the Panorama Panthers volleyball team (7-23 record) in their postseason opener. The first round of the Class 2A Region 3 bracket starts tonight as the Panthers travel to Madrid for a playoff match versus the Tigers (11-15 overall). The Panthers and Tigers opened the season against one another in conference match play at Madrid. Madrid outlasted Panorama in five sets (20-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 4-15).

The Panthers closed their regular season with tournament play Saturday at Woodward-Granger. Panorama suffered three setbacks over the weekend including a straight-set loss to Roland Story (13-21, 14-21) and a pair of three-game setbacks versus East Union (21-18, 15-21, 9-15) and Colfax-Mingo (20-22, 24-22, 16-18). Panorama head volleyball coach Renae Follmuth says its time for her girls to leave it all on the court. “It has to be full force the whole time,” Follmuth said, “There’s no time for hesitation, no time for questioning, there’s no time for putting the brakes on. We have to put it all on the table.”

The winner of tonight’s match advances to Monday’s quarterfinal round versus AC/GC (20-9 overall) in Guthrie Center. Tonight’s Class 2A Region 3 opener between Panorama and Madrid serves at 7 p.m. at Madrid High School.
