Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s cross country teams competed Thursday in Atlantic for the state qualifying meet, and enjoyed a great deal of success.

On the boys side, freshman Nate Mueller won the meet with a time of 16:32, helping the team finish in third place and advance to the state competition. Other runners that qualified as individuals include freshman Ethan Jurgens, who finished fourth with a time of 17:07, and senior Ryan Heffernan, who finished 15th with a time of 17:45. In order to qualify for the state meet as an individual, runners must finish in the top 15 at the qualifying competition.

On the girls side, junior Sadie Jurgens will be ADM’s lone state participant. She finished sixth with a time of 20:25. As a team, the girls finished seventh, which wasn’t high enough to qualify them for the state meet. The 2017 State Cross Country Meet will be held on Saturday, October 28th at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The class 3A girls race will start at noon, and the boys will start at 12:30.
