acgcLast night the ACGC volleyball team learned their opponent for next week’s Class 2A Region Three matchup. The Madrid Lady Tigers defeated Panorama 30-28, 25-12, and 25-15, securing their spot in next Monday’s quarterfinal.

Senior Shayla Peters led the way for the Lady Tigers. Peters smashed a season high 16 kills, along with 19 digs, five aces, and three blocks. Senior Ashley Moore added 21 digs and nine kills in the victory. Madrid improves to 2-0 against the Panthers this season after winning a five-set marathon in Madrid early in the season.

The Lady Chargers defeated the Lady Tigers earlier this month in a close, but convincing three sets. Sophomore Olivia Laabs posted one of her best performances in that match, recording nine blocks and 29 digs. Jadeyn Carrick also pounded nine kills, along with three digs and two blocks. The home court advantage will be a factor, as the Lady Chargers are 8-3 in Guthrie Center this season. First serve is next Monday, October 23rd at 7 pm.
