acgcThe ACGC volleyball team will look to secure their first postseason victory as a combined athletic program tonight against a familiar foe. The Lady Chargers will host the Madrid Lady Tigers in the Class 2A Region Three Quarterfinals.

ACGC defeated Madrid just two weeks ago in Guthrie Center. The Lady Chargers tamed the Lady Tigers in straight sets, winning 25-22, 25-17, 25-15. Junior Jadeyn Carrick led the way with nine kills, three digs, and two blocks. Sophomore Olivia Laabs also notched nine kills, in addition to 29 digs.

Madrid senior Shayla Peters recorded 21 digs, six kills, two blocks, and two aces in the match. Peters is in the top five in kills, aces, and digs in the West Central Activities Conference. Peters leads the Conference in digs with 346 and was instrumental in the Lady Tigers first round victory over Panorama. The senior blasted a season high 16 kills, along with 19 digs, five aces, and three blocks.

The winner will travel to Council Bluffs on Thursday to meet the winner of St. Albert and Underwood. First serve is tonight at 7 pm in Guthrie Center.
