A sunny, warm, and windy, day greeted runners at the Riverbend Golf Course for the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational cross-country meet on Thursday. The Greene County girls were seventh among 11 teams and the boys were last in a 13 team field. Jeff Lamoureux is the coach of both Greene County teams.

Bailey Cunningham led the Greene County girls by placing 14th in 23:02 for the five kilometers (3.1 miles). Kassie Lamoureux was 22nd in 22:48, followed by Conner Allende, 32nd in 25:15. Regan Lamoureux was 39th in 25:56, and Izzy Bravard finished 49th in 27:49.

North Polk (Alleman) won the girls’ team title with 22 points, followed by Madrid 99, Bondurant Farrar 114, Roland-Story 134, Ogden 149, Southeast Valley (Cowrie) 154, Greene County 156, South Hamilton (Jewell) 194, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) 228, Colo-Nesco 240, and West Central Valley 260.

Lus Velasco led the Greene County boys with a 52nd place finish in 19:46 with Garrett Tasler 48th in 19:48. Nic Killion was 110th in 21:46, followed by Trevor Zebeck 149th in 22:56, and Brian Hardaway 180th in 24:14.

B-F won the boys’ team title with 58 points. Madrid had 99, Woodward Academy 106, R-S 116, Webster City 137, Kuemper Catholic 137, So. Hamilton 138, Ogden 152, NP 186, Saydel (Des Moines) 264, WCV 325, SEV 339, and 359 for Greene County.
