Another dominating performance from the Panorama Panther football team Friday night in their final non district tune up game in Woodward.

The Panthers were up against the Knights of Woodward-Academy, a match up that has gone heavily in the favor of Panorama the last three seasons and Friday night was no different. Panorama struck an early lead and never looked back ending the game with a 52-14 victory.

As prolific as the Panther offense was, it was the Panorama defense to strike first with a first quarter pick six by Tanner Godfrey and a safety. Panorama took the 9-0 lead into quarter two where the offense got their turn to score and they scored big with two touchdowns on the ground by Brody Rickheim from 26 and 34 yards out, to go along with a one yard touchdown run by Gunnar Grunsted. The Knights of Woodward-Academy would find the scoreboard for the first time in quarter number two and when the two teams went into the half, Panorama held a comfortable 30-7 advantage.

Quarter number three was a scoreless stalemate for both squads but the fourth quarter sure made up for lost points starting with Luke South for Panorama rushing in a score from 10 yards out to start the 4th. Woodward-Academy would find the scoreboard for the second and final time on another deep strike, this time for 42 yards to bring the score 38-14. From there the Panther special teams would have some fun with an 80 yard kick off return by Blaine Barber followed by another defensive score with a 31 yard pick six by Michael Allen. The Panthers ended the night on top 52-14.

Panorama stuck to their biggest strength and for good reason with 339 yards rushing compared to Woodward-Academy’s 30. Panorama did double up the Knights in total yards 375-186. Brody Rickheim led the ground attack for Panorama with 135 yards and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Luke South went 4/7 through the air for 36 yards passing.

Panorama now rests at 2-0 for their early season record while Woodward Academy remains winless at 0-2. Next up for Panorama will be the first of a two game home stand next week as they welcome in the Tigers of Madrid to town to begin district play. Kick off from Panora next Friday begins at 7:00 pm.
