Multiple ADM cross country runners finished in the top 30 individually of Monday’s Ballard Cross Country Classic in Huxley. The two class meet featured 23 area schools running at the Ballard Golf and Country Club with the Tigers competing in the Class A field.

Sadie Jurgens produced ADM’s best result of the night. Jurgens, Class 3A’s No. 28 ranked runner, was the runner up in the girls field with a time of 20:22. It was Jurgen’s third top-five result of the fall and the second straight runner up finish. Freshman Hannah Welch recorded the only other top 30 finish for ADM girls’ squad, recording the 25th best time at 23:03. ADM placed sixth out of the 11 team field with 176 points.

Three ADM boys runners were among the first 20 athletes to cross the finish line Monday, and two of them posted sub-18 minute performances. Freshman Nate Mueller clocked the meet’s sixth best time at 17:24. Senior Rylan Hefferman crossed the finish line 18 seconds behind Mueller for ninth place. Freshman Ethan Jurgens ran the 16th fastest race in a time of 18:05. ADM finished fourth in the team standings with a score of 117.

ADM returns to race competition Monday, hosting eight area teams in the Tiger Invitational. The girl’s varsity race is scheduled to begin at 5:20 p.m. with the boys to follow.
