guthrie county sheriffThe Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office has a new face on the force.

James Mink was hired as a new deputy last month. The Denison native was a member of the Denison Police Department before accepting his current position and has been in law enforcement for four years.

Mink served in the United States military, has a background in narcotics enforcement, and has K-9 training. While law enforcement wasn’t always necessarily the career field Mink was interested in, he always possessed a respect for authority. Mink says he’s is already fitting right into the community. “Everybody bends over backwards to help you. Since I’ve gotten here I have had zero issues with anybody. Everybody’s polite and I haven’t met any person I’ve been disappointed with around here.”

Deputy Jesse Swenson has also returned but is currently on limited duty until he fully recovers from an eye injury he suffered while off-duty over the 4th of July holiday.
