acgcThis week in practice Tri Center’s Ben Sorensen was working so hard he ripped his jersey. For the third best rusher in the district, it really doesn’t matter what number he wears as he keeps adding great performances to his career. He added another one during homecoming week, leading the Trojans to a 41-0 win over the Chargers.

Sorensen got the ball rolling early in the first with an 80-yard scamper for six. Senior Kaden Karagianis not only got his first carry of the season, he also got his first touchdown with a 23 yard rush to put the Trojans up 14-0. Sorensen added another for his 11th touchdown of the season, and junior Tanner Nelson hauled in a 29 yarder for his second touchdown.

The Chargers had numerous chances to get on the scoreboard, but were hampered by penalties, sacks, and other general miscues. Late in the third quarter that frustration became evident as a Charger player was ejected from the game due to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Coach Mark McDermott told Raccoon Valley Radio on the postgame show that the player said something he shouldn’t have and he is disappointed in the player’s actions.

The Trojans finished with five rushing touchdowns from four players and snapped three a game losing streak in the process. The Trojans will host Logan-Magnolia and the Chargers will host Treynor in a homecoming matchup next week.
