ADMThe ADM cross country teams are back in action today after initiating their 2017 campaigns this past Saturday.

Head coach David Zwank and both his girls and boys squads will be taking the short road trip to Winterset to battle a pair of 17 team fields at the Lakeview Country club. Today will be more than just the second meet of the season for both Tiger squads, but the first time of 2017 up against Raccoon River Conference opponents which today will include host Winterset, Ballard, and Perry.

Both teams come into today’s pair of meets with a fair amount of youth on their rosters with half the Lady Tiger roster comprised of underclassmen. The same can be said about one of the largest boys rosters that coach Zwank has coached with 17 of the 30 runners belonging to either the freshmen or sophomore classes.

The Lady Tigers will most likely be led by now junior standout Sadie Juergens who successfully transitioned from placing 7th in the Junior Olympic track championships this summer to a 5th place finish to start the cross country season Saturday. On the boys side Ethan Juergens came out of seemingly nowhere to lead the Tigers in their season opener and he will join new comer and returning state meet runner Rylan Heffernan in leading the charge today for the Tiger boys.

Both Tiger cross country teams will begin with meet number two this afternoon in Winterset beginning at 4:30 pm
