Media Day was held on Wednesday for the Greene County volleyball team. Veteran head coach Donna Carhill has just two letter winners returning from an 11-25 season in 2016. Seniors Megan Durbin and Samantha Hardaway lettered, and Durbin was a first team all-conference selection in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference as an outside hitter.

There are other seniors, but not with varsity experience, so the coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about what needs to be done first. “We need to get them comfortable playing with each other, so the first goal is to figure out who are the top eight to 10 on the varsity level, then get them comfortable offensively and defensively. We want them to know where they go and who’s in charge of what. Those things that they’re not going to know by experience.”

Carly Tiffany Brown and Tiffany Hupp are the assistant coaches.

The Rams will have some time to figure things out as the varsity doesn’t play an official match until September 2.
