Perry-Chamber

The time has finally come for the annual Perry Cruise Car Show.

From 6-10 p.m. Friday, there will be around 150 vehicles in downtown Perry. Chamber of Commerce Director Bob Wilson says there’s still time to register your vehicle for the show. “Come on down, bring anything on wheels. If you’ve got a sweet old bike or a tractor or whatever, we’re going to try to find a place for you to park.”

The event is taking place on 2nd and Warford streets, which will cause both streets to be closed for most of the day Friday. However, Wilson feels it’s a minor inconvenience for what should be a great show. In addition to the cars, attendees will be treated to music provided by D.J. Pat Graney in the Josh Davis Plaza, as well as a beer garden provided by the Mandarin Cafe. Wilson reminds people there will be one-of-a-kind handmade trophies given in five different categories, including best local vehicle.

Plus, the Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from the event throughout the festivities. We will be giving live reports, playing music, and relaying important announcements. To register for the car show or for more information, call 515-465-4601, or stop by the Chamber office at City Hall.
