Perry Chamber Director Bob Wilson
Perry Chamber Director Bob Wilson

Bob Wilson has now officially stepped down from his position as Perry Chamber of Commerce Director, though until his successor is found he’ll still be helping out.

Wilson took a position with AccuJet in Perry, and announced his resignation two weeks ago. Since then, the Chamber Board has been searching for the individual who will be the next director. Wilson says the Board isn’t rushing itself, and he’s willing to aid them in the interim. “The hiring committee’s doing a great job of making sure everything’s in order, and we’re moving forward to kind of tweak the job description. I think at this time, they’re just going to take it slow. I’ll stay on as part time and help the transition.”

Wilson, who served as Chamber Director for six years, was a frequent visitor to Raccoon Valley Radio. He joined us every April for the live Fourth of July fireworks drive pie auction, along with other Chamber events, and was a weekly guest on the Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program every Friday. Wilson promises his successor will continue those traditions. “You know, I’ve had a pleasure with the radio. You guys are great supporters of all the Chamber programs. The Big Red Radio’s been everywhere, you know it’s been fun. So I will miss it. I think it’s a valuable tool to help get the word out. And I can assure you it will continue with the new director and the board and stuff like that.”
