national weather serviceLate Friday night thunderstorms activated Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team coverage.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 11:16pm for northeastern Greene County. The potential risks with the storm included heavy rainfall, 60-miles-per-hour winds and up to quarter-sized hail. Although, all of those threats were radar indicated. The warning then expired at 11:45pm. The Greene County Sheriff’s office didn’t received any reports of damage during the storm.

Three members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team provided live coverage of the storms and were in contact with Weather Eye meteorologists and local law enforcement. Our Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage anytime there’s severe weather in our primary coverage area until either the warnings drop below severe levels or move out of our area.
