Jeff Lamoureux is new to coaching cross-country, but the first year boys’ and girls’ cross-country coach at Greene County High School is no stranger to how good the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference is at the running sports. He’s watched the league for years and has three daughters on the team. “With Gilbert and North Polk (Alleman) in the same conference you’ve got a good one-two punch there. That’s a good goal for us. That’s what we’ve talked to the kids about. We’re not there yet with Gilbert and North Polk, but we can aspire to be.”

The Rams will see those teams and many others in less than a week when the Rams open the 2017 season at the Gilbert Coed Invitational in Ames. The meet is held on the Iowa State University Course.
