finished wild rose casinoWith the 2017 fiscal year ending this past July 1st, both the City of Jefferson and Greene County have reported the funds they’ve received from Wild Rose Casino.

As part of the agreement, the host city and county of a casino automatically receive one-half of a percent of the adjusted gross revenue of the casino. The City of Jefferson received $140,134 for the 2017 fiscal year. That was a slight increase over the 2016 fiscal year total of $133,330. City Administrator Mike Palmer says most of those funds went toward equipment and uniform purchases for the police department’s newest officer.

Greene County’s total was similar with $140,136. The 2016 fiscal year total was $133,329. The Supervisors are continuing to use the funds as tax relief.

Wild Rose Casino and Resorts in Jefferson has been in existence since August of 2015.
