As part of the agreement, the host city and county of a casino automatically receive one-half of a percent of the adjusted gross revenue of the casino. The City of Jefferson received $140,134 for the 2017 fiscal year. That was a slight increase over the 2016 fiscal year total of $133,330. City Administrator Mike Palmer says most of those funds went toward equipment and uniform purchases for the police department’s newest officer.
Greene County’s total was similar with $140,136. The 2016 fiscal year total was $133,329. The Supervisors are continuing to use the funds as tax relief.
